DISTRICT GOVERNOR NOMINEE – Robert Tardiani
I was born in Ingham in May 1948 and at the age of 10 moved to Townsville where my parents purchased a convenience store. I attended Saint John Fishers Christian Brothers School. Upon completing Junior, now grade 10, I commenced work with the Commonwealth Bank and after two years obtained a position with a Public Accounting firm, then moved onto a Meat Export Company.

Sue and I were married in 1971 and we have a daughter, son and four grandchildren.

I obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from JCU Townsville in 1985 and moved back into Public Accounting to study in becoming a Chartered Accountant which I achieved in 1988. I continued in Public Practice until retiring in December 2013.

In 1992 a business client invited me into Rotary and I was inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Townsville West (now Townsville South West), on 2nd September 1992. I have been Club President (3 times), and Secretary & Treasurer (2 times). I was recognized with a PHF in 2001 and then a PHF Sapphire in 2009.

I have been District Secretary on two occasions. The first was for one year in 2005/2006, and then for three years 2010-2013. I am currently Assistant Governor Group 3B and Company Secretary of Rotary International District 9550 Limited.

Sue, a Rotarian herself, has encouraged and supported me through my Rotary journey, and we are both looking forward to the next three years.

When you start with Rotary good things happen.

Yours in Rotary,
Robert & Sue Tardiani.
